The 12 Days of Christmas!!!!!

So another day at school.  Actually, today isn't really considered school 'cause we're not doing anything productive, just watching lame kiddish movies.  Too bad we couldn't watch something that's rated R or at least PG 13.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Anyways, I'm supposed to be leaving tomorrow morning with Jimbo and my brother (Thirsty Thursday!) Ha-ha, geez I'm pretty excited to leave this crap hole that's located in the middle of nowhere!
PARTY!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mmmkay, I'm wonder why there are Twelve Days of Christmas and I've recently found out what it really means.  So what does it mean?  It is part of the celebration of the day of Epiphany.  The origin and counting of the Twelve Days is complicated.  Christmas is a season of the Christian Year that lasts for     days beginning December 25 and lasting until January 6 or 7.  By the 16th century, some European and  Scandinavian cultures had put together the "Twelve Days" with festivals celebrating the changing of the year!   Quite complicated but interesting, eh?

Aight, it is officially Christmas Break Babbyyy!!!

Winter Sucks

So today is Monday. I started my day with a cup of coffee then headed to school and played a game of basketball with my classmates.  Now I'm just helping my brother with his missed school work.
I'm totally supposed to be done with 2 essays but apparently I'm stuck at both climaxes.
Anyhoo, I'm supposed to leave Myu sometime soon for x-mas break. I'm sooo excited to see my man candy!!! He's in jail right now, just for a week, and he's not a felon, it's only a misdemeanor.  No biggie. I mean look at me, I'm not any different. I mean I've ended up with two MCA's and possession of illegal drugs, at the age of 17,  there wasn't any need of me going to jail. I just got kicked out of my boarding school (MEHS) and immediately got sent to treatment, and trust me, treatment at Northstar is just like jail but with only crazy girls. haha We constantly got body searched for any type of contraband and all of our rooms were torn down by the staff who searched us. Then we would end up picking up the pieces of what was left of our bedrooms.  Treatment sucked!
Well I guess I should try and get back to work. I have a lot to do before this semester ends :S
~Hopefully Today Is A Good Day~

:.I'm Vindicated.:

Lame day today.  I've had a rough night and barely slept.
Tragedy sucks ass! I'm in school, "supposedly working."

Actually this whole year is pretty lame. I mean I haven't
ever failed a class and now i failed Algebra II!!?? I don't
know what's happening to me, I guess I'm just starting to
give up. I think the cause is being in relationships. I wish
that they can be PERFECT!!! But nothing ever is. Things
in life are too complicated these days and things here are
like wayy to dramatic. I hate drama. But anyhoo, I guess
I'm going to get back to "working."  Peace out~

I'm not that Smart, but I am that Beautiful

Today is a new day. Lately things have been changing, morally and socially.

Why am I judged for the way I look?
Do people envy my appearance?
I know that I am an appealing human being~
I don’t mean to brag, but you can blame my parents for that ☺
But things need to come to an end.
I'm not Ugly and I'm not a Witch
I know that for a FACT
and
you can't argue against that-

I think I'm Agnostic, but I'm not even 50% sure. People have been making me feel guilty about it, it's only because we live in a small community. But the people here, my friends and my acquaintances, do not have a right to condescend nor judge me for that purpose. As for me, I have the right to believe anything I want to believe in, whether it is Science or Existence.

To me, I believe that only the eye can prove the existence of nature or anything beyond material phenomena.

Morally, being in that situation is wrong. But things for me alter. Life changes and people move on-

Beyond Hope By: Ashley N. Brankovic

Tijana was standing in the lengthy line outside of school waiting for class to start.  The sky was perfectly clear and blue and the sun gleamed over the tall building while the shadow behind her stood alone.  The warm breeze gently brushed through her shiny hair.  It was late May, the beginning of a new school year with everything out of the ordinary for her: language, friends and environment.  She entered the building, and walked through the hallway, nervously lost.  She gazed at the blurred area around her. Students stared at her while they strolled to their classrooms.  With most of the attention on her, she wanted to be out of sight.  For the first time in her life, she wished to be invisible.  A majority of the students revealed their lack of respect towards her; she was condescended and looked down on.  “How could these people be so cold-blooded?  I was expecting to be treated like a guest,” she thought.
She walked towards the classrooms and followed a few of the students that were in her group at the class meeting the day before.  She figured that she might have the first period with them.  So, she entered the grimy classroom, picked a desk to sit at and took out a spiral notebook along with a mechanical pencil.  She looked at her surroundings; there were approximately twenty students in the classroom with her, two sat at each desk.  While the room was quite large, she felt claustrophobic.
Being in a diverse community with hundreds of people she didn’t know, gave her an uncomfortable and awkward feeling.  “What if her peers thought she was insecure?”  She felt self-conscious, only because she looked different from the rest of the students.  She had tanned skin, deep brown eyes, and beautiful waved brown hair.  She used to come across to some people as 9 year old, but this time, she gave the posture of the smart 11year old that she was.
“Zdravo.”  A girl said sitting down next to her.
“Hi.”  Tijana said shyly giving her a timid smile.
For some odd reason, she felt like she’d known her.  This girl was pretty tall; her pale skin and dark hair made her stand out.  Something about her trapped an image into Tijana’s head of a cute little youngster she once knew.
“Do you remember me?”  She asked with a European accent.
“Umm, not quite, but you do look familiar.”
“I’m Sashka, we used to be friends when we were little girls.”
“Wow, really?”  She said with a naive look on her face, “I thought I recognized you. I’m Megan, just incase you forgot.”
Oh, no, I remember.”  She smiled.
She seemed polite.  So far, Tijana had already liked her.  Just the fact that Sashka spoke in English gave her such a relief; it edged off most of the tension that rested on her shoulders.  Thank god somebody at least speaks English!
“Do you mind if I ask, how you like our school so far?”  Sashka questioned.
“Well, as you might know, this school is pretty dirty and a bit poor.  But it is a big change for me, quite an experience actually, despite the fact that people are so patronizing.”  She explained narrowing her eyes.
“Yes, our school isn’t thriving, but we do have a few good qualities.”  She smiled.  Tijana was awed by the idea, but managed to focus on the teacher who was having a debate with the students about chronological historic events.  Finally, the bell rang.
It was lunch break, every student who wanted to have lunch had to pay a monthly fee of 350 dinars, which was about 7 American dollars.  She wasn’t familiar with that; the teachers and staff only spoke Serbian to the students at the meeting the day before.  Time slowly went by as she attended all of her classes that day.
She felt the heavy weight lift off of her chest; school was finally dismissed.  Her day went by dreadfully sluggish; it was a long surreal blur.  She let loose a great big sigh then smiled, immediately leaving the classroom with a huge lump in throat. She felt like crying, only because she was out of place.
She met up with one of her old friends by the railing outside of the school.  Her name is Jelena. They decided that since they lived less than a block away from each other, they would walk together everyday to and from school.  Jelena wasn’t quite a bilingual being, though she understood how Tijana felt; having to deal with the confusion of making a new life and friends in a different country.  They spoke to each other in Serbian cluttered with English.  The thing they had in common was that fluency wasn’t their greatest aptitude.
As the girls walked through the small city of giant buildings, the aroma of a bakery hit them; smelling like fresh bread mixed with a scent of a foreign perfume.  Since they both hadn’t eaten lunch, they stopped at the bakery to buy a kifla and a yogurt.  She thought that Europe had the best bakeries.  The girls sauntered home pleasantly nibbling on their snacks.  They had a little chat about how their first day of school went.
They girls both agreed that it was pretty decent although Tijana came up with a lie that was fairly reasonable.  Things for her were tough.  She barely knew the language and only knew a few people in school liked her.  Almost the entire class stared at her throughout the day making her feel uncomfortable.  She could now imagine what it was like to be the victim of chauvinism.  They called her the “Americansi” and made fun of her because she was a Native from Alaska.  She was worn out, she felt as if she lost half of her soul.
When Tijana arrived at the gate by her house.  She said goodbye to Jelena and told her to call her later that day.  When she walked inside, she heard her parents arguing, which clouded up her mind even more.  Instantaneously, she went in her room, plopped herself on her bed and forcefully buried her face in her pillow.  Her parents yelled back and forth at each other, not caring whether she heard them or not.  They argued about wanting a divorce; she knew it was coming, with all of the infidelity and treachery they had for each other.  She couldn’t take it anymore, she felt totally strung out.  Loneliness bit her to the bone, and the enmity of the people around her made her want to scream and shout.  So she lay there and cried, powerless.  All she wanted was to go home, back to Alaska where she truly belonged, where everything felt normal.
She sat in her room for a few hours; thinking about her situation.  She watched the sun fade, turning the landscape dark and gloomy. Within minutes, the rain began to trickle out the sky.  The weather that day definitely suited her emotions.
The enduring days became a routine; Tijana was still feeling a bit down, but at least went to school with a little more confidence and dignity.  However, she ended up going home with the same feeling as she did the first day.  Why did she deserve this?  She began to run out of reasons to cry.  At this age, she wasn’t supposed to be put through these sorts of situations.  She didn’t want anyone or anything getting in her way anymore; she wanted to start taking control of what caused her to feel sentimental.  This was the only way for her not to feel dejected and the only way for things not to go downhill.  It was time for change.
Tijana walked to school with Jelena, and they stopped at the bakery as usual.  As they headed towards class, a boy and a few of his friends called her names and continuously laughed at her.  Nobody seemed to realize how people made her feel; she was practically being brutally butchered.  This time, she didn’t let it go.  She stood up for herself and told them that she wasn’t only a Native Alaskan.
“I’m a Serbian just like you.  You’re not any better than me so back off!”  She shouted.
“Dang Tijana, you did good, and it’s true, they’re not any better than you.  You’re unique.” Jelena smiled.  She would never forget about the girl who stood up for herself.
The people around them just stood there, who were shocked about what they have just witnessed.  There was satisfaction in her arousal and she felt motivated to change.  Tijana had felt that she’d given the boy and his friends a morality lesson on equality. Throughout the whole day in school, she felt good about what she did.  From now on, she didn’t want anyone to make her feel unworthy again.

Gay Marriage

Marrying somebody you love isn’t a privilege. People have the right to marry any person they choose. Presently in America, millions of citizens are incredibly against gay marriage and millions of people do not really have a problem with it. The verity of the opposite sex getting married doesn’t concern me at all. People who are hostile against homosexuality fight about it, when hostility is considered wrong. But happiness is happiness and I think that everyone deserves a chance to be in any type of relationship with anyone, no matter what sex or race they are. People should have the right to marry and live with whom they love.

There are plenty of reasons why I’m not against gay marriage. I do not think that it is some sort of “repulsive” thing to witness. To me it’s normal; I look at it as the person’s choice on how they want to characterize themselves towards their acquaintances. Numerous people, who are in opposition of gay marriage, discriminate and think negatively about them. And the homosexuals are familiar with the terms of that. Some particular people literally hate the gays. They act like some sort of “racists.” Though, racism and discrimination are wrong and against certain people’s morals. So why consider homosexuality a problem when citizens are doing the same thing with bigotry against innocent gay people? I believe people who are fighting and are assertive with gays, are on the same level. Therefore, I wouldn’t be too judgmental about it.

There are many special moments in life that you look upon as being “happiness,” right? Do you remember the special moments you’ve had like your Sweet 16th birthday, when you graduated or got married? Gay people enjoy these occasions as well; they are ordinary people like you and me. There is only a slight difference between straight and gay; it is the same sex they are strongly devoted to. Just like the times you spend with your wife or husband. I think that everyone; black, white, gay, and straight, deserve to have some sort of joy in their years without detestation. Being against homosexuality is unworthy because people shouldn’t be making their lives any harder than it is. People shouldn’t be taking happiness away from each other. Trying to prevent homosexuality from happening is morally wrong because not anyone or anything can stop the affection that a couple have for each other.

In my prospective, homosexuals being in love and getting married isn’t such an awful or shocking thing. We have the right to speak up about what we think is right or wrong. Therefore, I agree with the fact that many people fall in with. When it comes to love, and being happy with one another, there shouldn’t be any attempt to ruin a relationship or connection that couples enclose together. I feel that everyone should learn to accept certain things that happen in life, no matter what the consequences, situations or conditions may be like; it’s the way life is meant to be. Mainly what I’m saying is, nobody is not alike or perfect. People are different in their own particular way. Nobody can put a stop to it. So why waste your time on something you consider wrong?

***I Think I Have A Yawning Disorder***

  • Wishes- I wish that I can wish for a million wishes!

  • Hibernation- I wish there was such a thing for humans!

  • Trust- A major problem I have with people! especially with guys

  • Integrity- "Quality of being honest & having strong moral principles" = many people don't have this quality 100%.

The Path She Walked
By: Ashley Brankovic

At one moment in time, her existence started to rotate
She’d catch a glimpse of all the distressing times she has had
The joyful moments gradually started to lose color
She’d realized that it all turned dark and wild

Sporadically wonderful things would lurk her direction
But the ongoing episodes damaged the striking route
Abhorrence started building up within her
She was baffled, waiting in favor of an answer

She wondered why she was at hand that certain moment
What has she carried out to be worthy of this nonsense?
She struggled to battle the savage killing line
The thoughts in her head were unbearable to take

She has never expected all of the jet-black chaos to charge her way
But being in the midst of the world that instant, she thought that
If she found her way throughout the jagged path that she sauntered
She would thoroughly edge off the nervous tension and anxiety within her

She would wander freely as a non-hopeless being
So she thought about taking the easy way out
She considered what she was doing was the right thing
So she waved goodbye and her soul whispered “farewell”

Okay
By: "Allen Brankovic

He’s out on the Pacific Ocean,
Nothing is around him, but he’s okay. No
One’s catching his emotions and the pace
Of the moving waves don’t understand.
The engine rumbles from the ship;
But he can’t hear it. He’s doomed.
Being pierced in the moment of silence.
Then the ears arouse, He repaired his thoughts
As he aided the ship. That’s what he does.
That’s how everything is okay.

Rhythm of the Pendulum
By: Ashley Brankovic

She once heard that the future was

Only to be thought of. But the future was to come,
The path is lingering ahead of her.
As the rhythm of the pendulum swung,
Years of her perpetual memoir advanced
Though pieces from her past still mingled.
Delightfully being gifted with her long-known desire,
Growing into a dexterous veterinarian.
A carefully regulated schedule from the hours of 9-5.
Scarcely, responsibility slips from beneath
Her tips, the time would eventually tear.
Some sat waiting and wishing, and she kept
Hold of the ambition, finishing the marathon.
Continuing to pursue her trail, as other paths
Joined her hands, where she held her life.

I Think There Is A Need Of "Specific Peace"

Its been a while since I’ve written in my blog. Things with me are obtainable, alright so far. I’m longing for things to be better, like it used to subsist. I’ve just been working every weekday and I was supposed to baby sit this morning, but I was busy helping out my mother. Other things have been taking place and apparently, I’ve been into a certain kind of commotion and drama with a person. But I know that I am thoroughly better than with the purpose of dealing with it, but I’m done. And I know how to walk away from those sorts of possessions.

But something I would be looking forward to is going back to my childhood, and I know I’m still a kid living life, but I miss being younger. I had never dealt with such tragedy and drama. Many hard times come; especially if we’re not capable of getting away from the people we see frequently. The setback is living in Mekoryuk, a village- Allen and I need some liberty from all the people we’re in contact with. Even though I attend a boarding schoool in Sitka, I still need to split. I just want time to deem. I want to leave to leave to country. Back to Serbia, Montenegro. Where my other family is. Its been such a long time since I’ve conversed with them. I awfully miss'em.
Well, I’m off to watch a movie, tootles~~~

It's Been A While... Mekoryuk...

Wow, it has been quite a while since I've blogged. It's not that I've been busy; I've just been gone. Watching my Grandmother's house and her dog while her and her husband are out of town. So I just didn't have time to sit down and chat.
When I came home, I actually had time to blog and check my mail, my brother is usually online. I'm not very sure what he does online, but it kind of takes up my free time. Besides that, the weather here is chilly! I do not like it at all. I mean, common! It's suppose to be a nice summer! Well I have to get going now, I have an appointment :)

Today, Is Not The Greatest Day

Okay, let me just put it out there, today, I am sick and dead beat of people’s manners and attitudes. People have been getting on my nerves lately but I’ve just been, you know trying to take no notice of it. Gosh, it’s like their bad sensation and tention just washes over my moral atmosphere. I can’t even begin to explain it. It seriously aggravates me! But, hey, writing and listening to music helps me get my mind off of such frustrating things like that. I also like it when people get my mind of those sorts of situations.
Hehe, thanks Alton! ☺
Anyways, other than the “infuriating annoyingness” my day was alright, not the best but just fine. Nothing really new happened. But yet again I went for another long stride on the beach with my dog Ebony, she is so cute! I adore her to death! Well, I guess I'm done-

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Okay, today, well right now, I am totally lazy! No joke, i feel like crap. Of course I woke up around 2 o'clock this afternoon.
Last night was alright, nothing special. Sidney came over, then we went for a cruse on the beach. I was actually planning on going for a nice walk all by myself because it was pretty nice and calm outside, but then I bumped into him and he picked me up. So after that, we hung out with a few friends and he later dropped me off at a friends house. Her name is Corretta, she can be such an amazing person. She is a person who isn't afraid to express herself. She has a good personality and a great sense of humor. That's the most part I love about her.
Well now, i have to get ready to leave, I have some business to do.

~The Beauty Of Soaring~

You know what really is on my mind right this moment? Wishing that I could soar in clouds with the natural world and animals! Wouldn’t that be extremely amazing? I’ve constantly dreamt about wanting to fly, just parting from everybody I was around and feeling the cool gentle breeze against my face and into my hair. I would be leaving pieces of my sorrow behind and colliding with beauty and glee. For me ,it would be like reaching for Love. It is something tremendous to think about if you have a creative and imaginative mind. I think about the wildest things ever! Maybe some people will think its crazy, some people think its all right and some people seem to agree and have a colorful and inventive mind, like I do. Just see in your mind's eyes, if you can be in the blue skies, just yourself, with nothing else, you’d be able to catch a sight of everything from your view, maybe even heaven. Who knows? Would Life be easier if we can fly? In my opinion, I think it would be easier. Flying can be like taking a “timeout” from the world. You’d just be able to get away and free yourself.

Anyhow… Today is a great day, it started off very slow, I woke up late as usual but now it’s all good. If only I could start my job like tomorrow, I would be waking up early and everything would be on track. Not that everything is off track, but doing things would be much easier if I were to wake up early. Not sure how it is for you. You know what I mean? As for working, I will be working soon, sometime this week hopefully, OMG, that just reminded me that I need to return my application to NVM! Totally forgot about that. But for my other job that my brother and I got hired for is going to the South Side of Nunivak Island with like 10 other people for a clean up. It’s only for about a week, but its actually really good money, we’re all going to get paid over a grand. Yay! I’m so excited, because I’m going to be getting such a great tan while I’m there, that’s like the only motive and reason I’m looking forward to going.
As for the rest of the day, I’m just going to chillax and hang out with a few friends and then go for a nice walk on the beach again!

A Long Walk On The Beach

I was supposed to go to the Evangelical Church tonight, but something happened. Nan, one of the elders here, had passed away, so I’d like to say, Rest In Peace Nan. It’s not that sad of a day, her relatives didn’t seem to be too distressed when I saw them. But other than that, I’ve had a great day. Although, I woke up pretty late in the afternoon, but at the moment, I feel re-energized and recharged because I went for a long walk on the beach. It was just tremendously beautiful to see what I haven’t seen in such a long time. I just find it so irresistible to not leisurely walk by the seashore, all by myself, on such a nice-looking evening to come into view with a great, luminous sunset. I LOVE THE BEACH! It helps me calm myself down and get my mind off of stressful, silly things. It makes me feel so much more relieved when I peacefully walk alone, breathing the fresh air. So basically, I believe that I cannot live without a beach with such a superior view-

What is the word "Love?" Is There Such Thing as "Teen Love?"

Gosh, I woke up sooo late today, that's probably because I went to bed after 7 A.M. haha So today, I totally feel crappy, but hey! it's only 3:30 P.M. There's never "not enough time" :D Well today I kinda feel like writing about life and love, although, I still do not completely know what either of them really mean, does everybody not know? Or is it only "the youngsters" and "teenagers"
you know, sometimes it really ticks me off when citizens say that "oh yeah, that's just Teen Love." WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? I think it's kinda pathetic, Isn't Love just Love? ha, i have a lot to learn about it, but I actually was in love before, or was it love? Should I call it Teenage Love? Or a mistake? yeah, whatever, moving on....

"Life" is complex; there's detestation and love, somewhere, along the way it's departure will get forceful and rough, but there is always going to something in particular that is unique and that you will like and, a thing that you will always enclose in your heart, forever- in our day, happiness is not so much in having as distribution or generousness. We, people, make a living by what we get, which can be wrong at times, but we ought to create a living by what we offer people, without selfishness. When we get something, we have it, but sooner or later, we will always fancy something more, something different, for instance, the word Love. Some people seek for it; some people avoid it and some people crash into in to it unexpectedly. Love is virtually something different. I think that is impractical to clarify what it really means.
Is there such a thing as “Teenage Love?”

First Time Blogging Baby! "Distinctive Desires"

I'd like to have a discussion about is "Distinctive Desires."
We citizens are most likely assembling a living by what takes place and what we acquire, what we do not compromise and what we desire. What has happened? Why can’t we presently be pleased by what we already have instead of searching for something more? Has the imminent future and technology changed everything? Just imagine what life would be like, how life would be a great deal easier if we didn’t get put through things that we’ve experience today in life, the difficult battles we have to face when they come charging straight in out direction. I think if things resembled like they did in the past, we wouldn’t be so selfish, prejudice, egoistic, etc. I believe that that it is now too late or far to make a change. We find something to get a hold out of, we lay the guilt on somebody else's shoulders or we just forget about, and act like nothing happened-
So what are we left with? Is it something more to rummage around for? Or is it something that has to carry out with seeking for ourselves?
